Electrical question...?

Question:One room in my house lost an outlet, meaning no power to it while the others on the same circuit still worked,so logic tells me to repace the outlet ,which I did and it still doesn't work,so can someone tell me what the trouble might be?

Answers:
It isnt necessarily true that all the plugs in one room are on the same circuit. I know. They probably should be. But check your breakers.

if the other outlets work, the connection at the splice box may be loose find out where it is and than check your outlet usually in a room one outlet is connected to the other check all outlets in room to see if there is a loose connection.
make sure you didnt lose power to any other rooms or outlets in the house cuz sometimes ppl split them up if this is not the case could be broken wire in the wall cuz rats and mice like to chew on them if you put any nails or srews in the wall you could have hit the wire some how and that can be a fire hazard or it could not be grounded right or lose ground
check breaker could be a dedicated circuit if not take the outlet out and count number of wires on outlet ex 2 white wires on the neutral side and 2 black wires on the line (hot) side that means that outlet is fed from another outlet poss-able in the same room. check outlet left and right of the outlet that is dead you can also get a small meter at home depot that just plugs in and most of the time will tell you what is wrong with it IE open hot, open neutral, open ground, etc etc
Assuming that the dead outlet is part of a series circuit of other outlets. The problem may be at the outlet in the circuit just ahead of the "dead outlet". The wire connection at the other outlet may be loose or disconnected. Two types of connections are used. One is a push in type connection where the wire is stripped and pushed into the outlet. The other type connection is where the wire is wrapped around a screw. On either type check for loose or burned connection. You may just want to replace the "feeder receptacle".
Check one out let before , probably is not connected to source
of power. As you know receptacle are serial to gether in one room ,maybe electrician forgot to connect that out let to supply.
