Central Air not working??

Question:My central Air unit works but it's not blowing the air from the unit to the rest of the house. I checked and it dosen't appear that the blower is working. Is the blower bad or could it be something else???

Answers:
You could have numerous different problems. Could be a bad motor, could be a bad capacitor that runs the motor... could be a problem with the fan relay switch or the PCB board... If your not to familiar with any of these then I might say that you may want to call a service tech... But alls I can say at this point is either you have a bad motor or your not getting power to the motor,,, Kinda hard to tell unless I was there myself.

First thing you should do is check the main unit and make sure there is not leaves or debris outside. My air quit working and when I sprayed out all of the leaves it started working again. Also the fan can get stuck, but definitely turn it off while you are checking if it is not the motor you don't want to burn it up!
I would say if your central air in under warranty then call and have it checked, if not call someone for an estimate on service and repair to your unit.
check the breaker box out side by the unit it may have tripped you will have to shut it off then on.
If that isn't it your motor maybe shot. But don't bother getting
a new one unless you have a warranty.
If the model is really old it maybe time to invest in a new one.
GOOD LUCK!

If it appears your blower motor isn't working then first check the air filter... I need more info like,,,, does the blower come on at all and slowly looses affectiveness? P.S. before trying to troubleshoot this. turn off the air conditioner for about 3 hours, just incase the evaporator coil is Iced up
If the outside unit is running then check your breaker panel inside the home, then also check your air filters, if no breakers have popped then your fan relay could be bad or a bad blower motor, if it was a breaker and your blower comes on turn your thermostat to "FAN ONLY" and allow it to run for at least an hour to defrost the coil as it will be iced up if the outside unit was running with out the blower. Good Luck
