GE Refridgerator problems?

Question:This morning my wife noticed that the top shelfs of the Refridgerator were not very cold and the milk while not warm was not a cold as it usually is. The bottom shelves seem fine. She then told me that the other day the milk was so cold some ice chunks were in it, again this was on the top shelf. So I cleaned the coils underneath the fridge hoping that would help. Anything else I could be doing as a quick fix? Oh and the freezer is working fine and this is a side by side unit.

the defrost thermostat might be bad if the bottom is cooling than its not freon, also the defrost heater could be bad also.
