You can then use the one little room as a place to retreat to when you're super frizzled and medium rare....
You could turn on the air conditioner if you have one, if not head out and buy one, makes a big differece in controlling the tempeture
Aside from the obvious - buy an air conditioning system - I would try the following: 1. Place window fans in windows that are in the shade. Fans in sunny windows will blow in hot air.
2. Open windows throughout the house at night when it's cooler. Close in the morning and pull shades to keep sun and warm air out.
lol an air conditioner is the best way. open all the windows get lots of fans if u dont have one...i hate summer

Wear no shoes or hats and wear as little as possible. Drink ice-water (maybe with lemons and/or limes in it) allot. Keep your cloths in freezer. Eat cold foods- fruit, ice-cream, smoothies, cold cut sandwiches, and gazpacho soup!! Have cold showers!
You said your house feels like the dessert, so I'm guessing that means a "dry" heat. In that case: You might look into a swamp cooler. It's cheaper than a/c but only really works in dry climates. Here's a link

Try to keep it as dark as possible and have fans on to keep it cool.Shower when it is really hot and then sit in front of the fans.
