How do I fix a melted spot on my carpet?
Question:My rent is up at the end of July and I dont want to loose my deposit. I recently dropped a shisha coal on my carpet, and i, am trying everything to get it out. The carpet has a couple of melted spots. Any suggestions as replacing the carpet isnt an option.

The only way to fix it is to cut out a square and carpet tape in a new square of the exact same carpet. Place a square of carpet over the top of the burned spot and use a carpet knife to cut out a square the same size.If you don't have access to another piece of the carpet, I don't think you can fix it. Sorry. God bless!
is it a shag, berber, what? if it has a pile to it, cut out the melted portion carefully, to the portion that isn't damaged. If there is a section of the same carpet in a closet, carefully cut off some of the pile in a corner, and carefully glue the pile to the damaged area in an upright manner. use a glue that isn't colored or water soluble, if possible. After it has dried, trim to proper height.
there is no way to repair melted carpet unless you replace the carpet, or leave something like the last piece of furniture you need to move, over the spot and hope the landlord doesn't notice it until after the inspection.
Stranger things have happened. I was concealing a couple of spots on my own carpet last night! This worked pretty good, using a disposable razor, I shaved the area pulling the razor from the good into the bad spots. Than I cut some fibres or threads from the edge of the carpet in a non conspicuous area ,and after spreading a little heavy -duty glue(sparingly) on the spots, put them down on top.I laid something with weight over it until dried.Put some wax paper on the top before setting down the weight. When dry, lightly run your hand over the area to bend the fibres in . Mine turned out good, I hope this works for you too. Bye
YOU HAVE ONLY ONE OPTION
Since replacement isn't an option, Kiss your deposit goodby. You'r never going to be able to make any repair that won't be noticed.
