Refrigerator is not cold. Then it's cold again. Then it's not cold.?

Question:Hi I have a 2000 yr model Kenmore refrigerator with double doors side by side. Yesterday, I notice that all of my food was not cold at all. The fridge is not cold and the freezer is not freezing. All of the food melted in the freezer. The power was still on, but temperature was not cold. I check the setting too and tried to set it at max. I cleaned the dusty coils underneath the fridge by vacuuming it.After that, I checked to see if it's cold again but its not. I called Sears repair to make an appointment. Then later that night everything was cold again, so I got excited. I thought that the dusty coils was why it didn't work. The next day I called to cancel the appointment. Later that night everything was melting again, freezer not freezing and fridge not cold. So I guess I shouldn't have cancel the appointment. I am using a small temporary refrigerator that I borrowed for now. I was wondering if anybody can help? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Answers:
two things to consider. number one compressor overload is opening for some reason. this could be for many reasons. it's drawing to many amps or getting to hot, (working to hard). these overloads are automatic and when they close fridge starts operating again.

but i am going to suggest there is something haywire in the defrost circuit. appliance is going into defrost mode when defrost is not needed. there are several different controls and ways to initiate/terminate defrost. you will need to call a tech. GL with it!

get the freon checked
I've had this problem, but not on a kenmore.
My problem was with the coil.
Go to the repair shop so that you will know the problem.
Get another appointment. Sounds like something to do with the electrical parts like the compressor or fans inside the frig.
the thermostat is bad, also check your defrost thermostat also.go to www.repair clinic.com
