As the gentleman above stated, Goodman, for the money, is a good choice. More upper end choices are; Trane ( also good warranty, Carrier, good too and GE. All these products are well designed and pro-form well. Shop around once you decide. Installing will be where you need to get 3 estimates. Best of luck!
Not sure on the brand but my home is almost 3000sq feet and I bought mine at walmart & it does cool our home very well
You could try a Goodman, I had one put in my house inside and outside about 2 years ago, and we havent had any problems at all. It would not be a big deal however, due to the fact that they have a 10 year warranty. I guess anyone who stands by their product for 10 years is pretty confident.
Most air conditioners are built pretty much all the same... There is only 2 companies in the world that build compressors for all air conditioners, and the compressor is the heart & soul of an air conditioner... Best thing I could tell you is to buy a unit that has the best warranty... There are some units that carry a 5yr warranty, 10 yr warranty, and some that carry up to a 20yr warranty... depending on what you want to spend on a unit will determine what kind of warranty you will get... I myself have had excellent luck with the Goodman line of air conditioning... For the price and quality of the unit they come with one of the best warranties on the market... I have installed numerous of these units with no problems on any of them to date... For a 2000 sq ft home you should use between a 3-3 1/2 ton unit depending on the insulation value of your home.
