Do we have to tear walls out to get rid of black mold?

Question:It's not alot that I can see but I'm sure the landlord used bleach on it. Is it okay to paint over it or do we have to rip out the walls and replace them. We live in Georgia.

Answers:
there's a product called "Jomax" that now comes in a spray bottle, spray on and the mold&mildew disappear. If you seal up mildew and mold it will keep growing and it loves an oil based product like kilz more than a water based product YOU HAVE TO KILL IT ! so use the jomax and then use Zinseers water based mildew proof paint, garunteed for 5 years, Good luck Les the painter

If is not very much,,,maybe covering 1-2 sq. ft. I would treat it again with bleach, seal it with Kilz and paint over it. If it is more than that, I'd contact the landlord and have him take care of it. If he won't..contact your city Healt Department.
I would notify a mold specialist, and let him determine your next course of action. Mold can be deadly, if left untreated. Protect yourself, and your family. Good luck!
