My shower has stopped heating up.?
Question:I think a fuse has blown, but don;t know where. MCB tripped but its ok now. Could it be in the unit? Anyone help please?

If you don't have hot water anywhere, then it's in the water heater. I am presuming it is electric. The first place to check is the breaker box or fuse box. Make sure the breakers have not tripped or a fuse blown. The water heater should be on a double pole breaker(one of the wide ones). If no breaker has tripped then it has to be a problem with the heating element or the thermostat in the heater. There is a red reset button on the thermostat which is located inside the door on the side of the heater. If you push the reset on the thermostat and the heater still does not heat, then you need a plumber to check the problem and fix it.
Check water heater if you have one ,pilot light should be lit.
have you paid your electricity bill?
You say that the MCB tripped and is now OK so I think it will be the element that was at fault you will have to get a sparky to install a new one
no fuse in shower unit .there should be an exteranal on/off switch try the fuse in that if it has one if not its the heating element has gone. cheaper to get a new shower
If the mcb tripped but reset without retripping you need to get it checked out by a qualified plumber. It sounds like the heating element has failed, you can usually get replacements but it might be cheaper to replace the whole unit.
get an electrician they should solve your problem in an hour or so definately electrical problem somewhere
