How do I get rid of pitch pockets on my new picnic table?

Question:The table is either made of Pine or spruce. There is one spot that the resin is leaking through the stain we put on the table. Another on is developing on another board?

Answers:
A heat gun will bring pitch to the surface. Denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner should remove it.

It's going to be a never ending battle. You might want to consider sealing the table with white shellac and then painting it.
