How do you replace a dip tube in an electric water heater?

Question:

Answers:
If the dip tube is bad or broken, you should replace the heater with a new one. Good luck!

Remove the cold water supply inlet supply line. Then remove any nipples or extensions so that you are left with the "female"threads at the port on the water heater. Next install the dip tube and reassemble.
I would recommend that you replace the water heater with a new one as getting all of the old dip tube out of the unit and preventing it from migrating through the water pipes is extremely difficult, time consuming, and if you pay a plumber, lots of money too.
Why do you want to do that?
That's rare.
Anyway, after you break the cold side down to the inlet, use an 'easyout' to grab it and pull it out. Comes out easy.

Are you sure you are not confusing the dip tube with the anode rod?
