In ground pool vacuuming?
Question:We are having a time this year, our pump has valves and dont know what to set it on. It has a lever on top of a pvc pipe that can be changed to 4 different settings. Came with no directions and the pool place that put in the pool in 04 is NO HELP

Call a poll service, tell them you are confused and will pay for a service for them to vacuum the pool, but you want them to explain the operation of the valves.
Do what I did, video tape what they tell you and take pictures and notes when they go over the stuff.,

I'm assuming you are not referring to a multiport valve connected to your filter. You'll have to identify valve manufacturer as the closed port could be where the handle points, or it could be on the opposite side. Your very best bet is to call in another pool service as they'll be able to figure it out quite easily.
