If a room with marble flooring has been flooded and turns white, how do you get the white out?

Question:The room was flooded for a day or two. We were told to clean the flooring with vinegar, but the home owner thought the house would smell like vinegar for months, which is not the case.

Thank you

Answers:
Clean first with Sand and then apply floor polish. It will remove white .
-It would be better if you use wet cotton cloth while cleaning with sand .
Thanks you too,

Unfortunately, you have a bigger problem on your hands than you think. Vinegar will not remove the haze which has formed on the floor. From the condition of the floor that you described, it sounds like you will need to have the floor cut or polished to remove the haze. This is costly, but it will polish and seal the floor to it's original luster. Stay away from any acids!! Marble is very pourous and acids, no matter how mild (orange juice) will permanently etch the floor.

I would suggest contacting your local flooring company for ideas.
Good Luck.
