Go to Lowes, and purchase a tool called a "Zip-it". It costs about $3. Insert it into the drain, and remove the hair. Very simple, and very inexpensive! Good luck!
Wal-Mart should have a drain cleaner for less than $3. Name?? there will be several to choose from.
Rock salt and white vinegar. Put a cup of each down the drain with 3 cups boiling water. Allow to sit for an hour. Flush with cold water.
use a can of condensed air sold in the plumbing department at home depot or menards or lowes. It will use air to force the hair clog into the larger pipe in your drain system, and from there it will just go down the drain. It can be used multiple times. Most chemical drain cleaners only work if the clog is in the trap, since this is the lowest part, and the chemicals will just sit in there.
Ewww! I hate when that happens! First, if the screen pops off, do that and pull out what you can. (I pulled out a clump of ick and almost died once!) Then following the directions carefully, pour in Liquid Plumber. It is a dangerous product so don't use if there are small children around. I usually clean my drains in the night time then rinse well in the morning.
try removing the overflow, the chrome ring just below the rim of the tub, two screws usually secure this part. If there isn't a hairball at the end of the rod, stuff a wet rag in overflow fill tub with 2-3 inch's of water and plunge..a little safer than chemical's and cost no money.
Some hair will be trapped in the shoe of the drain, and can be fished out.
But your best bet is to get the drain cleaned by a plumber or rooter person. The best way to get the hair and other buildup out of the trap.
go to Lowe's or walmart ask for zip it.
