What is the drain button on a dishwasher for?

Question:whirlpool

Answers:
Normally, the machine would drain the water out at the proper time by itself, but in the event you have to "abort" in the middle of the process, you can over-ride the timer and get rid of the water. This is my guess; sometime if you're feeling adventurous you could press it! However, I assume no leagal responsibility for the outcome.

to let the water out into the sewer.
to drain it lol
to drain water
The drain button is simply a cancellation of the cycle. Push it anytime in the cycle and the water will drain out and the machine will shut off. Most newer models have relabeled the button 'cancel' but does the same thing. Sometimes people will rinse dishes that have been setting in a cupboard or cabinet for some time to knock the dust off them and don't need to run a full cycle so you wash them for a few minutes then hit the drain button to end cycle.
