How do I get leftover adhesive pad from dry-erase board off my door?

Question:I put a dry-erase board on my door, and when I took it off yesterday, the foam adhesive pads stuck to the door. I've tried scrubbing them with a wet towel, scraping them with a knife, and they're still there. If I can't get them off before I move out, I'm going to get charged a lot... Ideas?

Answers:
Try goo gone or goof off. you can get this at any hareware store . Good luck :)

you need something to break down the chemical integrity of the adhesive. household items- try vinegar. want to go to the store - Goo Gone
Scrape as much of the foam off as you can. Then use WD-40. Just spray some on and start rubbing with a paper towel. It may take a few minutes, but the product is kind of oily and will start to work the adhesive off.
Try fingernail polish remover. But test it on an inconspicuous spot on the door first. If that doesn't work, try household cleaners like 409.
Goof-off or similar product is best, works fast with no residue. HOWEVER! These type products contain acetone which is no big deal unless the paint on your door is latex (waterbased) in which case that will come off too. Just to be safe, try the vinegar first. If that doesn't work then any normal solvent; mineral spirits or paint thinner should work. If you know your door is painted with an enamel paint or is stained/varnished the goof-off is the best.
