Mouse Bite??
Question:Hubby put glue boards down to catch field mice in the house(I hate those boards, think they're cruel) anyway, how do I get the mouse OFF the board..and do field mice bite??
Answers:
Field mice can bite, although I have never heard of any having rabies myself, it's probably not impossible. To get them off the glue board ~ don't. Just carefully pick the thing up and put in a bag and take out to the trash can outside. Wear gardening gloves may make you feel safer. I hate those too, but when you think about mice in your house, one male and female can produce 5000 descendants (babies, grandbabies, etc) over a years time. And they can bring in diseases like hantavirus. Get rid of them any way you can!
yes they do,and probably have rabies
get sum type of repeliant for them
or mouse traps
the sticky ones
They will run from you, best advise would be to grab a box and dustpan and push the mouse in the bow. =]
Maxy <33
find a way for the glue to soften so it will come off easier
and they do bite but if you do get bit then immediately put anti biotic on it and if it becomes infected go to the ER
Yes, mice bite.
Ummm, you're not supposed to be able to get the mice back off of the glue boards, sorry. Some mice have been known to try to chew themselves free of the boards (as in gnaw their own legs off). The glue is strong enough that removing the mouse will cause incredibly painful, lethal damage to the poor little guys.
Honestly, the most humane thing you can do if you see a live mouse stuck to the board is kill it as quickly and painlessly as possible.
I'm sorry.
Mice do bite and many carry disease. Best to wear thick, leather type gloves when touching live mice.
Better solution: find out how the mice are getting into the house and plug the holes. They'll keep coming in forever until you take the time to do that.
Sorry to say it this way but just throw the boards away. You would not like to see what happens to the mouse if you try to remove it from the board. Keep this in mind before you feel too bad for that poor little mouse. They do bite and they carry many different kinds of diseases, rabies and their feces are loaded with these diseases and some of this stuff can kill you or someone else you love. A small child may look at that cute little furry thing and get a bite when they try to play with it or look at the droppings and think they are jimmies from an ice cream, sorry, and the result? I won't say more.
Use kitchen tongs to remove the mouse. Mice will bite and I would regard it the same as a rat bite and get medical attention. They can carry rabies.
