Roughly how much does it cost to convert a window in the kitchen into a back door? thanks?

It depends on the size of the window, as this will determine the amount of brickwork to be reworked. If the window opening is considerably wider than a standard external door opening then expect to pay a little more, as there will be more brickwork to make good.
Basically the job will involve removing the brickwork below the existing window sill to accomodate the required width of the door opening, patching the brickwork to the new opening dimensions, then installing the new door & frame, and making good to the plaster reveals inside. Usually the existing lintel above the window will suffice for the door opening. I would say 1 day for 2 men, so expect a labor cost of around £400. Then the materials cost depends on how posh a door & frame you have your eye on;hardwood will set you back around £200 for the door & frame, upvc about £350. Sundry items such as bricks, plaster, silicone etc will add around another £50, so budget on £800 or so and you won't be far out. If you get estimates for considerably more than this you are being taken for a ride.

Hope this is of some use.

haha you look like me, only im much happier!
£2.00
Probably pretty cheap. If you hire out, I'd guess 700-800$ American. 350-400 pounds.

You'd just need someone to check that the framing is sturdy, basically take a chainsaw to the wall after the window jam is removed, put up some 2X4's for new framing, put in the door, and drywall the edges, then cover with trim to match outside and inside areas.
the cost of the door has alot to do with your total cost. id say around 500 bucks if wires dont have to be moved and you dont live in a brick house. any kind of handyman could do it.
the cost of the door, plus $200-$300 labour,
A good double glazed, plastic door will cost you £500 fitted, the extra work about £250-£400 depending on the work involved.
it is a straight forward job.The cost depends on things like the width of the window compared to the width of the door to be also if the height of the window is high enough that also helps. But if you have raise the height and make it wider it will involve more work and cost. Before you take out the window ,measure and mark everything.Check that the lintels above the window are adequate for the door in strength and width.Have props ready to support opening when you take window out.If nescessary replace lintels. The wall section under the window should be cut through on both sides with a 12 inch grinder and then knocked out.The new door frame can be inserted in the opening ,put some damp membrane around the section underneath and up along the wall,Make sure the frame is levelled and well fixed.Decide which way you want the door to open and then hang it..Cost depends on the work involved, the type of door and frame you choose and hopw much you do yourself. cheapest about 500 .Hiring a builder maybe 1250.. ALso depends on where you live etc
I`d guess at £800 which would include the price of the door ect
