I live in the midwest and we just had 25 days of rain in June.?

Question:My bro (from California) just moved into a brick home with a mold problem. Any suggestions, he's scared to death of chemicals.

Answers:
Curing the high moisture levels is the answer. Anyway that moves more air will help. Try a dehumidifier. I don't know any method of killing the mold without chemicals. A mild solution of chlorine bleach is recommended and a lest toxic method. If the mold is inside the walls (it usually is) you are in for some remodeling to replace sheet rock and kill the mold on the framing lumber. Replace the sheet rock with new "mold proof" dry wall. Ask about this product at your local home improvement store.
Just be sure to fix and leaks that allow the water into the house before you start on the interior.

If this house was purchased recently it should be the realtors or prior ownersresponceability to repair this I cannot believe it is legal to sell a house with a known mold problem ?
And or if you are renting contact the land owner(landlord)and have them fix this right away it is a health hazard to all occupants of this building.
