What is the best dehumidifier to put in a large basement?

Question:

Answers:
Go with a 40 to 50 pint unit and direct the flow of water directly into a drain so you don't have to empty it all the time.

Hate to just say "see a pro," but heres some wisdom I picked up from a project I worked on.
Had to have transformers installed in unfinished basement for medical equipt.
The owner had a dehumidifier installed because some of the space was used for file storage.
The dehumidifier that was there caused some of the problem.
Called in the Pros.
They were not getting rid of the condensate properly & the place was not vented.
No standing water except fot puddles around the unit.
Turned out ,moisture was being drawn into the space because the unfinished block walls were acting like a wick
& the moisture was migrating to the slightly drier space.
The building had all sorts of water problems w/ water being trapped in window wells , & badly pitched parking & driveway.
Got better with lots of ventillation ( open doors & fans) while we were there.
The rest of the work was up to the owner.
Best regards
