My Stove is not getting enough electricity?

Question:Any suggestions? Could it be a breaker? I recently replaced a breaker...ya think it might of been bad? I had a service man come check the stove and he is the one who said it was not getting enough electricity.HELP I AM HUNGRY!

Answers:
You need to get a circuit tester. You need to test from ground to hot, and ground to neutral. Both of these should give you a reading in the range of 115 Volts - 120 volts. If one is not then your problem is at the breaker / panel box or the wiring in between.
If both of these are giving you the correct reading then your problems lies within the stove itself or the plug that plugs into the outlet.
For the stove : I'd test each and every function of the stove, if one is bad it is very unlikely all others would be out too unless it is the power coming into the stove itself - then it will effect every function of the stove.

If it is one burner or even a few but not the oven, then it is not the power coming into the stove but narrowed down to the range section itself.

In the event it is the breaker you are best just replacing the breaker. But just to be sure on a final test I'd trip the breaker myself and then reset it. ( Flip it one way to cut power then back to allow power to flow again). See if your stove works now - if it still comes back to the breaker then replace it. If it still comes back to the breaker after replacing the breaker it has to be the wiring from the breaker to the outlet.

If you determine you do have power at the outlet, but nothing on the stove works you need to do a continuety test on the power cord from the stove to the outlet - this test is done with power off.

In other words:
Do I have power at outlet?
Yes ... . prob it at stove or power cord.
No, ... ... prob is at the breaker or the wiring between the outlet an the breaker ( or the outlet itself).

If yes then:
Do all stove function work at the same time?
Yes - no problem exist
No - problem is at part not working (burner or oven)
No Power At All : prob is power cord or connection from power cord to stove.

If No above then
1. Reset breaker ( in case it is jammed) in attempt to restore power.
2. If power restored prob solved else continue.
3. If still no power, remove breaker to make sure contacts for wire are not corroded, clean if necessary - if too bad replace.
4. After replacing breaker - if power is not restored then replace breaker with new one.
5. After replacing breaker if power still not restored then replace Outlet and Wiring to breaker.
Testing:
1. Unplug stove from outlet and test outlet with circuit tester.
2. Perform continuety test on stove power cord.
3. Plug cord back in and reset breaker.
4. You now have enough information to determine wherein your problem lies.

I really hope this helps you out.

Your service man is not very good if he told you that you were not getting enough electricity and did not fix it. You need to call an electrician that knows what he is doing and let him fix it. Yes it most likely is either a breaker or you never got the breaker properly installed.
I am not sure what you mean by not getting enough electricity.
If the elements wont come on, then one leg, at least of your
120V is not arriving at the stove or there is a loose connection someplace in the stove. If the repairman checked and found no power on one leg, Your breaker is probably defective or not seated properly. It could also be a defect in your wall receptacle or even the stove cord. If you replaced the breaker. my question is why? I think you need somebody that is a little handier to handle this problem for you. I dont want you to fry yourself. To check the breaker, you need a voltage checker. For more indepth information on how stoves work - go to http://appliancequickfix.com/
