Hold in Cinder Block?
Question:I have a 3 foot narrow hole that was made in my basement cinder block wall. Don't ask. How can I fill that hole inexpensively and well enough to pass an inspection after I move out to get my security deposit back. Thanks!!

Don`t know why, but I get the feeling you`ve never layed block and probably never will.( at least not good enough to pass an inspection by the landlord)
Sound like you need to bite the bullet and hire a mason to do the repair correctly.
Put youself in the landlords shoes. Sure as God made little green apples you`d be pretty "chapped" if your tenant moved out and left some cobbled up hole in the basement wall!!
Remove the block that are broken so that the hole is surrounded by whole, unbroken block. Buy as many new block as you need at the home center, i.e. if your concrete block are 10inches deep front to back buy 10 inch block. Also buy some premixed type S mortar while you are there and a trowel. Mix the mortar according to the instructions, you can use a wheelbarrow or piece of plywood, spread mortar on top of the bottom block in the wall, an "butter the ends of the block to be laid by putting mortar on all four of its vertical corner surfaces, put the buttered block in the wall so the ends line up with the block two courses up or down. Continue with the others until the hole is filled in, the last one is tricky because the mortar will want to come off as you push it in holding it up from the bottom with the trowel.
