if your softener is working properly, it is actually good for the septic system.
The softened water is not an issue for septic systems, but the salty drainage water from the recharging process is not recommended for the leach field. Over time, salt deposits can build up in the drainage tiles, making the leach field less than optimal, or can even block it entirely.
It is recommended that recharging salt water be discharged elsewhere, either on the surface or into a separate 'dry sump'.
The latter is what I use at my personal residence, since salty water kills grass in short order.

and can cause your wepping bed to clog
water softeners are good for your water if you have hard water they also protect your water pipes from rust,as far as septic tanks are concerned don't throw grease down the waste pipe,and use a chemical called Sept to create bacteria in your septic tank,have it clean every 3 years,or you will wind up paying thousands of dollars for a new one,take it from experience.
