Question:It is new teak extending table and eight chairs would like to know pros and cons do not want to lose the natural effect of the grain.

Answers:
any type of protection for outdoor furniture is good! I would also get a cover and cover it when not in use to keep it from getting worn out as well

I believe you will have to use teak oil on it or else wasps will nest in it and you will have a problem
leave it for now as they are treated before dispatch and seaon later.
i dont even know what teak oil is
I have teak furniture outside. I've had it for 3 years and it looks almost new. The only thing is the stain has faided a little. I never bought teak oil I just used regular furniture oil. Not pledge but murphy's oil or pledge even had a furniture oil that I use as well.
teak oil or linseed oil, is ok just cover them up in the "off months"
baby oil works just as well and is 99% cheaper!!
just apply and rub it in well, and it smells nicer.

try it on the underside of the table if you don't believe me!!
Teak oil is brilliant, use it on my garden furniture every year, it protects the wood and makes the furniture look good. Wasp nests?
Yeah... I always use my own you-rine.
use teak oil its the best
Pure teak oil should not affect the natural grain of the wood . It might darken the colour a little. As long as you don't use a varnish of any sort.I assumed that when I bought some teak furniture that it had been treated in manufacture and would not need further treatment in the first summer.I had to leave mine out in the winter, nowhere else to put it, and it faded and got a grayish colour . A treatment with teak oil made it look great again.I just give mine one rub with teak oil each spring.
