What is the correct temperature for the refrigerator, My refrigerator has a dial 1-9, so what no. should it be
Question:
Answers:
it depends on how much food you put in...the food is inside the higher your dial...but for me your safer using 7 upto the max 9 if its full .And dont worry about power consumption since the thermostat will automatically shut the compressor from running once it reaches its desired temp setting
Start at the middle. Use the milk as a gauge. Adjust the temp for you're liking from there.
Usually number 5 is the right setting for the refrigerator.
40 deg. is what stops any bacteria from growing. place a thermometer on middle shelf and leave it there for 5 mins. read temp. if not a 40deg. raise or lower setting. try #3 setting first.
I would recommend using a thermometer and adjust your knob until the temp of your fridge is between 34 F and 42 F depending on how cool you like things and how much you keep in your fridge.
Your temp should be 0.5 degrees or below to keep bacteria at bay I would say between 3 and 4 for average, but remember the temp of the surrounding air will have a mild effect, generally turn the dial up 1 in summer and down 1 in winter. That's in the UK, If you really want to be accurate get a proper fridge thermometer, and monitor the fridge for a day moving the dial until you get it near enough, but remember when you open the door the temp will rise coz your letting warm air in
to save energy you can put it on #3
