Window units usually have a very small capacity. A small room is all that most are designed to cool and that may even be a stretch at high outside temperatures. There is likely nothing wrong with your unit but that you are trying to cool to large an area.
the problem could be that your unit is undersized,old,or lost some freon,why suffer get a new one.
