A/C repair?
Question:The A/C repair guy came out to look at my system today (rental house). I was complaining that the system wasn't keeping up. Low side was reading 72 before he came and I had a 20 degree differental. He cleaned the squirl cage and evaporator coil. Now that he has left it's blowing better but, I'm only getting a 16 degree differental and the suction side is around 81-83 psi. I know the house got hotter while he was working on the system but I don't think the low side should quite so high. I've got 77 degrees inside 98 degrees outside and a 82 on the suction and 245 on the head. Does it sound over charged to you? I'm thinking he put in a little too much r22.
Answers:
It could be a little over charged. You need to check the amp draw on the compressor. Was the condenser cleaned when the service man was there? Also check the amp draw on condenser fan and another possibility is the unit may be undersized.
For the outside temp at 98 degrees the head pressure is close I would say your compressor may not be working right.
