How can I rig a furnace thermostat in my bedroom that shuts off a blower after the room cools down?
Question:I have installed a separate blower in the second storey of our house, but unfortunately it works so well it gets to cold at night.
I have an extra thermostat, I guess I now need a 25v transformer or whatever else to make this happen. Any suggestions?
Answers:
Go to Home Depot, stop the guy in electronics and ask him.
I would use a thermostat along with a fancenter relay or some sort of switching relay that permits a low-voltage controller to control a line voltage device.
(Not hard to wire just use the enclosed diagrams). BE SAFE !
Use an item typically called a fan center. It will consist of a 24 volt relay a 24 volt transformer and normally open and normally closed set of 120 volt relay contacts. The 24 volt circuit powers the relay through a thermostat. The relay contacts can start or stop a blower.
