I drilled 2 5/8" holes in the drywall in my rental apt. to put up hooks. How can I fill them when I move out?

Question:I'd like to make it seem as if I never did anything if possible so that I can get my security deposit back. Are the holes too big for spackle? I'm not too experienced in these matters.

Thanks!

Answers:
Spackle should do the trick. maybe two applications for a totally seamless finish. That really should be expected as "normal wear and tear" by your landlord unless explicitly written in your lease/rental agreement that there may be nothing hung on the walls.

Use spackle or drywall compound. It may take two coats to get it right due to shrinkage.
Use spackling
Spackle will work fine. Fill the holes a little over half way, let dry and fill them the rest of the way with a second coat. If you're careful you won't even need to sand.
for plant hooks? there only 5/8, and the butterfly squeezes down. didnt you look at the pictures on the back?
Spackle should be fine. There is some spackle that comes in a tube with a tapered tip so you can get the spackle deep into the hole and work your way out.
