How can i fix squeaky floor boards?

Question:

Answers:
Is the floor covered with carpeting? if so, lift up the carpeting, and screw the floor board down into a joist. If not, then you have to get underneath, and put a shim between the floor board a the joist to keep the floor board from moving.

Screw them in to the floor joists. This question was answered last week.
Depends if the board is squeaking moving up & down on a loose nail - if so, see if you can tighten the nail.

If two boards squeak, rubbing against each other, find the spot & slide in a shim to quieten it down.
Sprinkle baby powder between them (if they can't be tightened)
Locate the board and find what causes the squeak. Then try putting wax (liquid or solid) on the portions causing the squeak. Or just avoid stepping on the portions resulting in squeaks.
An experienced carpenter will be a big help (I hope he is not a big expense in your area).
The baby powder trick really works!
i use screws to keep it ,back in place ,but also i use
candle wax melted, pour it down the board
IF THE FLOOR HAS WALL TO WALL CARPET the make a special kit , it comes with special break away screws ,do not have to tear up carpet .go to home depot , Lowe's ,it is easy and it work's
Nail each corner of the floorboard on an angle 2 to 3 inches
