Can I put a thin coat of concrete over recently laid walk?

Question:I put down a small walk to my home using quikrite concrete about 3 " thick. It began raining so I covered it with plastic and a tarp. The rain puddled in the middle of the tarp and left an indentation in the walk. Can I put a thin top coat of concrete over the current work to level it off? I still have about a 1" lip oround the top of the entire border. Appreciate ant advice. Thanks

Answers:
1" is not really thick enough to pour standard concrete. You could put a sand mix over top, 1" is about as thick as you would want to go.

Sand mix is the same as concrete mix, but without the gravel. You will also want to put a bonding agent on the existing concrete before you pour again to make sure the two stick together properly. The store that sold you the quikcrete should have both the sand mix and bonding agent.

I agree with the first answer.

A sand mix contains a finer aggregate than standard concrete... and would make a suitable top coat for this application as you've got a solid foundation to finish on top of. Hopefully the rain will hold off this time! :-) or send it down here to Florida... pleeease, we need it!!!
Not really. Thin concrete will just crack and you'll have to fix it again. Why don't you put somegravel into the indentation, and grow a groundcover plant in it?
