What causes clear acrylic to get cloudy INSIDE the surface?

Question:My golf cart windshield has a milky white streak inside the surface and I am not sure where it came from. Any ideas, and any help on how to get rid of it?

Answers:
You may have got some moisture inside a layer (possibly from a separation). If warming the acrylic (100F to 130F) for some extended time doesn't get rid of that you may have to replace it. ~
Could be a manufacturer's defect and under warranty.

Acrylic (Plexiglas) is susceptible to the elements. Exposure is brutal to acrylic over time. Not to mention, a golf ball will go right through it.
Lexan(R) is a polycarbonate plastic that holds up very well to the elements. Golf balls wish they could penetrate it... It is used for the lighted sign faces you see on businesses because of it's durability and clarity.
If you decide to replace your windshield, I strongly suggest that you use Lexan(R) or another brand name of polycarbonate sheet.
