I flushed a papertowel down my toilet bowl about 2 summers ago, and ever since then it won't flush right.?

Question:It flushes a little bit. Poops go down, but if it's just pee, then it just swirls a bit and never actually flushes all the way. It use to be the best toilet bowl ever until I flushed the piece of paper towel down. We've use all sorts of septice tank cleaners, plungers and snakes. How can a paper towel still be stuck after 2 yrs?

Answers:
It sounds like the toilet isn't adjusted right, the ball-**** isn't adjusted to let enough water go through the throat before shutting down the flapper. You can see that if you watch it.

Flush the toilet, now watch the flapper. It should stay up until the water goes all the way down, then shuts down, then the toilet fills up again. If it stops to soon, the water stops swirling around and stops the action. It leaves something in the toilet.

You have to adjust the ball-**** or the stopper, whatever you have, there should be an adjustable screw or some sort of adjustment for this.

It has nothing to do with paper towels, if fact we've used paper powels in a pinch, they work fine although a little rough. They also contain bleach and are hard on the butt.

You really should check the tank make the ball c o c k is adjusted right. Yes it is call a ball c o c k.
A paper towel flushed 2 years ago will not bother it. Just like the toilet can be called a crapper after the inventor. You should call a plumber.
youve waited 2 years? ew. have a plumber check it out. =]
I doubt that the paper towel is the problem. In two years the paper towel will decompose. There must be something else that has entered the system.
it would`nt be.
Are you sure the towel was Paper? Not a synthetic fiber re-usable one?
If it Was paper, sounds like you got some other problem.

If the "poops" go down as fast as normal, the pee should also.
But you might try raising the water level in your tank to just below the overflow tube and hold the handle down a little longer than usual.
The more water you have in your tank, the faster it will flush.
If that does`nt help, may be a good time for a new "super flow" potty.

Good Luck with it!
Let us know how you fix it?

I think that there is more in there than a paper towel. It might be time to replace the toilet. You could also try replacing the parts inside the tank, they may be worn. This is a relatively cheap trick to try before replacing the whole toilet. This also happened to my sister-in-law. When my father-in-law tried everything as you have, he was so determined to find out why it would not flush, he smashed it to find that a toothbrush had fallen inside and got stuck in the goose neck.
Good luck.
