Porch posts need lifted to prevent further sinking see dtails.?

Question:One of the posts on my porch is sinking. I need to have it lifted and something done to keep any further sinking from happening. Is this possible and if so who would I call to do this? Thanks.

Answers:
ok the sinking is due to rot or erosion, as you mentioned it is sitting it dirt.
this means your roof has sagged in that area as well.
Simple fix is to use a second post or any combination of post and simple jack to raise the roof next to post 2 to 3 inches(to remove sag in roof line at post) (also called jacking ) and remove the one sinking so it can be inspected for repacement if needed. if all is good pack fill the post hole with gravel 3 inches deep then measure n cut pole to fit back in. More involved but better fix is to dig out post hole to a square atleast 4 inches wider then fill 4 inches with concrete let set then replace post and pour in remaining concrete.
hope it helps.

need a little more info is the post in the ground what type of post is it rotting at base what is porch, wood or concrete you mentioned details but I don't see any
