I have a Neptune by Maytag and I love it. There were some problems with the older ones, I read in Consumers but not now. Otherwise, I don't know the latest stats, but you'll love the front loading.

I have a front loading LG washer and dryer, and they are pretty wonderful.. They have many cycles so you can really take care of your fabric. I asked the salesperson and he told me the maytags are more expensive but they just dont hold up like they used to. I have a maytag refridgeratot and it sucks, but my dishwasher is a maytag and its perfect. So you should ask the salepeople on the floor what they have heard the most complaints about and steer clear!
If money's no issue, (1) I'm jealous, and (2) you can't go wrong with Bosch appliances.
Consumers reports are witten by uneducated idiots.
All new appliances are designed for short life and they all have different problems, but I like the Kenmore standard top load washer and dryer. Please dont buy anything with electronic controls, they serve no purpose and are just time bombs. Dont buy any front loader - they all have electronic boards inside and just like cars - when they are new and working well, they are nice, but too pricey and once they start breaking down, become a nightmare.
