It depends on who you talk to whether pest repellers work or not. Spreading non toxic diatomaceous earth around your house foundation and basement will prevent them from entering into your living areas.
never tried one, but I've heard they kick butt. I've always stuck with spraying Cutter EVERYWHERE outside with the hose-attachment bottle. spray grass, trees, foundation, siding, roof --- works 4 mos of summer
