I'm guessing that SHOULD be in your owner's manual...
(Rule of thumb) Normally you should change it every season as part of your preventive maintenance program for this peice of equipment. If you find that your plug is fowled and needs changing more offen, you are due for a tune-up.
I ran a Honda for 15 years. I replaced the plug once-even then it ran okay before. TroyBilt? If its one of the older ones and in good shape -wait until it is hard to crank. If its one of the new ones (MTD) -good luck. I have a new 42" cut 19 horse. This is my second summer with it-its a piece of junk.
about after every two-three mowing seasons, but taking it out and cleaning the tip with a rag will extend the life greatly
We change sparkplugs every season. They are cheap insurance. Its part of our standard service package here.
As a general rule, I recommend after about 50 hours of operation.
Two cycle mowers require a much faster change, but 4 stroke mowers and tillers can go as long as 2 years without replacing it one time.
I reccomend to replace it as needed.
