Need to find a door.?
Question:We have to replace a door to the cupboard under our stairs. Currently it is a normal depth door, but shorter.
Height 6 foot
Width 2 foot
Depth about inch.
Please does anyone know of a source on non-standard doors in the Stockport area.
It is to replace the door to under our stairs, needs to be standard deptch to take a standard lock and handle. Nice door, but not exclusive.

go onto a site called freecycle Birmingham and ask for the exact size door you want and if your lucky you will get one not only that it will be free hope that helps you
Chris, you can use any door you like and have it shortened by taking some off the top and/or bottom. That way you can also have a door to match the others in your home. Many home improvement places that sell doors will trim it for you for a small additional charge, but it won't be returnable then.

2 options: first have one custon made should not be to expensive but depends on design or second: try some salvage yards look in yellow pages for ones near you . You might just get lucky.
DIY stores ..if they have not got can get 2ft wide doors.
Taking 3 inches off top & bottom.why not!!. Take a hollow door, cut to size, retain the off-cuts. Now, on the offcuts, remove the strip between the doorskins insert to top/bottom, no-nails and a good weight.
