The real test of a leak is what happens over the winter, if the level drops you have a leak. During the summer you will get evaporation and spilling if it is being used.
It depends on the temperature outside and the relative humidity. A weekend of splashing and sun and average humidity, I think you're all right.
If you want to know for sure cover the pool for a couple days, but that's no fun.
In a pool that is 25,000 gallons I loose about a inch a week. This is in the warmest months. The areas with low humidity and high temp will loose the most to evaporation. If you are still loosing water when it rains you have a leak.
Evaporation from a pool can be significant. You didn't indicate where you live, but the evaporation is a factor of sunshine of course, but also humidity. If you live in a dry climate with lots of sunshine you can easily lose a couple of inches of water per day.
One thing you might do to test your pool evaporation rate is to place a large plastic container with lots of surface area..something like a 2 quart tupperware container, filled to the top with water. Place it next to the pool and see how fast the water evaporates. If the water in the tupperware doesn't go away as fast as the pool, then you might need to have some testing done on your pool.
