New fridge help?
Question:WE just bought a new fridge, and its been plugged in for about five hours now. THe freezer's ice cold, but the fridge is still at 65 degees. How much time should pass before it is at the right temperature? We put the dial at the lowest setting too.
Thank you!
Answers:
wait for atleast 24hrs for the fridge part to reach its desired temp..normaly the freezer part will be the first one to reached its desired temp bec thats how their designed for fast freezing otherwise the food you put in it will spoil before it freezes..but if after a day or two the fridge temp doesnt changed then i guess somethings wrong with the one you bought..have it serviced or better yet replaced
It will take at least a good 24 hrs. And you have it on the lowest setting so there will be quite a difference between the freezer and the fridge. Try not, to keep opening it, too.
un plug it for one hour, let the themostat re set to 40degees
just because its new, it could be a bad one?
Call for service.all the cooling to the fridge comes from the freezer. the only thing that you can check is to make sure that noghting is up against where the air would come into the fridge from the freezer.
for a new fridge, adjust your setting at maximum for 48 hours and re adjust it after that, to your cooling requirements.
Start off by adjusting your refrigerator control to maxium and
when its cold enough, turn it down until it shuts off and it should maintain that temperature. The freezer control is normally a little door that lets cold air into the fresh food side
and when you select it to a colder setting, it closes the door and starves the fresh food side. Just set it to the normal setting.
