How man rooms can be connected to one breaker?

Question:I am living in a rental property and was wondering if there are legalities when it comes to the number of rooms on one electric circuit or whatever? We constantly blow fuses in the old rental house and I was wondering if it was illegal to have all power on the main floor on one breaker? Thanks!

Answers:
call the city and find out the code for your area..but it could mean you will have to move..or talk to the landlord and see if you brought in a electrican if he would mind if you wired some connections to another breaker..good luck..make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy..sounds like a fire hazzard

It's not the number of rooms that matters. It's how many recepticles, lights, etc. The guage of the wire and the size of the breaker or fuse.
The National Fire prevention Agency publishes a code book for Electricians every three years. No , it's not legal for all the rooms to be on the same breaker ANYMORE, but if the house was built or wired before 1930, it's common for many rooms to be on the same breaker. There is no requirement for "Old Work" to be brought up to todays standards.
Depends on the age of the dwelling.

Nowadays, kitchens and bathrooms have circuits separate from the rest of the rooms. The rest could possibly be all on one circuit, depending on square footage.
