Fix my Dehumidier plastic water tank?

Question:The tank that holds the water from the dehumidifier is cracked. The whole drain plug is cracked. I checked on getting a new plastic tank but they want $42, which I think is absurd for a cheap plastic tank., Any suggestions? I tried gorrila glue but it was not strong enough. It seemed to hold the water back but when I fiddled with it the whole thing cracked again.

Answers:
It really depends upon the polymer. Some can be glued, some cannot.

If it is nylon or polyethylene you are not going to be able to glue it and get it to hold.

If it is pvc - try the glue used to glue together pvd plumbing.

Silicone caulk may work with some polymers - but not all.

At this point - just try and see; nothing may ultimately work.

Can you use a hose and drain to the floor drain??

Silicone caulk on both sides smooth it out and let it dry for 24 hours, will hold and won't leak
