Will my futon mattress be ok?

Question:I got one that's inches thicker than a normal futon mattress and have been sleeping on it for a week with no problems. Now I want to fold it like a couch and it bends, but felt like c*ap last night. I already have an egg crate on it, will having a fiber bed and bending it like a couch ruin it?

When you have a thicker than normal mattress it isn't best to fold it.

Bending it distorts the filler in the bend & it may never be right again.

I would say that you turn it over the other way & gently try to work the kinks out of the mattress. May be just sleeping on the other side will make it fall back in to shape.

Then don't bend it any more.
