Carpet repair?

Question:A hot iron was left on my carpet and has somewhat melted it, the top half mm has turned into a solidified plastic, but it could be saved, does anybody have advice on how I could save the carpet from ruin?

Answers:
Im aftraid not. Call a carpet fitter & he should be able to cut the peice out & seam a new peice in.

You can just cut out the damaged piece and replace it with a match if it's newer. You'll never see the seam!
The only option is to cut out the melted part and replace it with a new piece. Our you could do like I did when my wood stove sparks melted mine...put a throw rug over it.
Take a sharp scissors and carefully cut of the top. If that doesn't work, a piece can be moved from a closet, cupboard, to piece it in by a pro.
You have to cut out the damaged area and replace it. Is there carpet in the house that is the same, where you can steal a piece, like in a closet? or under a piece of furniture that you will not be moving? If not , match it the best you can, the repair is the easy part.
