Can anyone give me a ballpark on roofing and siding for my house? Just a ballpark figure would be great.?
Question:I have a small cape cod that measures 32' x 24' with a roof pitch of 12-8 I believe. The house has a small loft upstairs but is mainly a one story house. I am not sure the total height of the house. I also have a small free standing garage that is about 24 x 12. Any good guesses would be much appreciated. I am planning on getting quotes from contractors but I am concerned they are goin to try an rip me off. My house was hit by hail and the contractors are asking how much the insurance company is giving me. I am reluctant to tell them because I know they want to get as much out of me as they can. Thanks.

I would say a good 30 yr. warranty roof shingle with new underlay, (stripping off old shingles) would probably run around $6,000. I have no idea on the siding price. Ours cost around $10,000, but we have an extremely large home. Victorian style, so it's bigger than a Cape Cod.
you have 352 squares of singles this is the square footage of your roof's divided by 3 the roofing company should give you an estimate according to the squares that or there DO NOT use the company that has asked you how much you are receiving from your settlement. They are trying to rip you off call other roofing company's at least three and go with them
As for your roofing here in N.C. it would cost about $120 per square to have the old tore off,disposed of and replace with new.As for the siding,using a vynal,the cost is around $100. per square to have it put on ,and all the window wooden window frames covered in PVC vynal metal
