My lawnmower putts..it only putts at half the speed with lots of smoke?
Question:i can start my lawnmower but it acts like its struggling. it stays running but only putting speed to where the blades wont cut the grass. i did leave it out in a down pour and don't know if the rain has anything to do with its sickly attitude ? if anyone has a-n-y suggestions to get my lawnmower up and running at FULL speed and NO smoke - i would really appreciate it!
Answers:
try and oil change. bet that will fix it.
i bet the air filter is wet, or water got in the spark plugs, leave it out on a hot summer day, it may dry out. sounds like water to me.
You might have water condensation
in the gas.
Try emptying the tank and refill.
Put in a new spark plug.
Clean the vent valve that screws into
the gas cap.
Good luck.
take out the old gas and be sure to check fuel cup if it has one?put new gas and some dry gas additive ,should get the fuel system working right?check yur plug too!!
If you have put the mower on it's side, (with the gas tank side down) you have let oil get into the carborator and that is what is causing the smoke and mower to struggle to run. The oil is cloughing the small pin holes in the carborator on the mover you can let it run for a while and hopefully the gas will clean out the oil in the carb. ( and it should stop smoking) If after you let it run and it still is struggling you will need to clean out the carborator of all oil that is in it.
bad gas
