How do you get Sharpie of of hardwood floors and leather couches?
Question:My daughter got a Sharpie from my husbands office and drew all over the couch and floor.
Answers:
try nail polish remover
My daughter got sharpie on the kitchen counter. My wife used a mixture of Ivory dish soap and water. Sprayed it on and dipped a wet rag in Baking Soda and scrubbed it right off. It came off easy. If that don't work try a Magic Eraser.
clorox wipes
mr clean magic eraser. it really does get almost everything off. (finally, a product that actually does what it says it will!)
I've read that WD-40 does wonders with magic marker stains!
You can find that tip (among many others) on their website.
Good Luck - Hope it helps!
Believe it or not but a Sharpie might just work to get it off. Trace the sharpie over the old line for an inch or so and then immediately wipe off with finger. This remoistens the original mark and allows it to be removed.
I totally agree with the others about the magic eraser. They make a heavy duty one as well, that is great for floors or anything rough.
Oh, it's very simple; sell the child that put the marks there, and with the proceeds, buy a new couch and refinish the floors! Brilliant! Actually, try an old toothbrush and some toothpaste on both, but you may have to lightly sand the area with 80grit (we're on the floor, NOT the leather,) paper, and re coat that spot with oil or water-based poly, depending on what you originally had applied. A floor guy would know by looking at it, but try the toothpaste first on both.
