Question:How can you tell the level of propane in your tank if you do not have a guage ?

Pour hot water over the side of the cylinder and then feel down the side. When you get to the level of the liquid it will be cold. Very easy to feel.

Propane and butane are sold by weight usually in Kg.
When you buy a new bottle weigh it on your bathroom scales, you can then check to weight periodically to see how much is left.
No two canisters weigh the same so you would have to weigh each new bottle.
If you are already using a bottle pick it up and shake it to see if it has any liquid left in it.
The best and easiest thing to do is by a spare, then you will not have to worry at all.

you could weigh it... propane weighs 4lbs per gallon.
