Do all window unit air conditioners drip water?
Question:I have an older Fedders model, and i see no way and no place the water can drip out! Does this injure the product or are some made not to drip??
Answers:
No, some units let the water evaporate using the heat from the condenser coil. This same basic principal your fridge works on. The hot coils are run though the drainage water causing it evaporate.
This in not real common. Most units do have condensate water but, you may have a unit that doesn't.
If it's cooling and not dripping water into the house then don't worry about it. It is very possible this is normal.
that water is the humidity dripping out - you may not live in a humid climate hence no drip. Or is a differnet nondrip model...mine doesn't drip and I live in the humidity belt
pretty much yea
They all drip. It is a by product of conditioning the air. tilt the unit slightly down at the back. When the pan overflows is when your see the water dripping.
As far as I know they all drip. It drips because the condensation it builds up. It just drips out of the back. No real drip area.
I agree with condar_1!
