The motor in my fridge is not running, but the fan is.?

Question:My fridge is 11 years old. Is it better to try to have it foxed or replace it?

Answers:
I repair appliances for a living. After 11 years, let it go. You have gotten your monies worth from this unit. Go ahead and replace it.

It is not economical to repair this unit. Don't find that out the hard way by paying a technician to come out and charge you $$$ to tell you that.

Let it go.it's gone to that big appliance junk yard in the sky.

have it checked by a technician, you may need to replace your starting capacitor, or worse, your compressor.
I bought a new fridge at Best Buy 3 months ago for $500.00 and it's very nice. They had 2 of them left from last year and the price was reduced, I got a real deal there. Would probably cost you more to fix the one you have, but defently check it out.
You did not say crosstop or straight fridge, anyway check your defrost timer just under door of fridge you will have to remove small snap on grill at bottom just reach in turn knurled knob on timer just a small amount leave fridge will more than likly come on.
to replase the compressor would cost as much as to buy a new one
